What is BMI?

BMI (body mass index) is a screening tool used to measure weight relative to height. While BMI does not measure body fat directly, it has been shown to correlate to measures of body fat, and is considered an accurate alternative for body fat measurement. With a simple formula, you can calculate your own BMI.

How Is BMI Calculated?

To calculate your BMI, you will need to divide your weight in kilogram by your height in meter squared. The formula is:

BMI = Body weight (kg) / Body height2 (m2)

For example, if you weigh 80kg with a height of 165cm, your BMI will be 29.4 kg/m2
