Biography

Ruoyu Xu received the B.S. degree from Hefei University of Technology in 2015, the M.S. degree in Mechatronics from Huazhong University of Technology in 2018, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer and Information Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen in 2024. He served as a research fellow in the Department of Advanced Computing Sciences at Maastricht University and as a postdoctoral fellow at the Multi-scale Medical Robotics Center. He has published 20 papers, including first-author journal articles in IEEE Transactions on Robotics (TRO), IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics (TMECH), and IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering (TASE). He has served as a reviewer for leading journals, including IJRR, TMECH, TSMC, and RAM, and served as a session co-chair at IROS 2021. His current research focuses on robot design, motion control, target prediction, and simultaneous magnetic localization and actuation for medical robotics.
